Session Overview
This session will help you gain an understanding of what to expect as dementia advances. Learning includes:
- What is dementia – find out about the different types
- What range of symptoms can it cause
- Changes in perception – how we see the world
- Improving communication
- Tips on how to help with eating and drinking and distress
- Understanding Sundowning and Delirium
- Supporting through signposting (list of support organisations)

Details
- Length: 2hrs
- Suitable for: Unpaid carers (family/friend). This session is mainly geared towards family carers to help them in their caring role. If you are a professional who wishes to attend in a personal capacity or are attending so that you can better support family carers, then this session will also be suitable for you.
- Delivered: In person
- Funding: Only people who live in Cheshire East can attend these sessions for free.
