Running an Effective Palliative Care MDT Meeting

professional carers in a learning environment

Session Overview

Do you feel like your current Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) or Gold Standards Framework (GSF) meetings are a tick box exercise without the right people present and the time to discuss what really matters?

Our highly interactive, well evaluated workshop will equip you with the skills and evidence base to run a meaningful and productive meeting.

Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) or Gold Standards Framework (GSF) meetings are a regular feature in the provision of palliative care and involve a range of professionals. Yet, their purpose and best format are not necessarily well understood or well structured. (Borgstrom et al 2021)

This half day study event will explain some of the main values of a MDT or GSF meeting and how they may operate in terms of their setup, professionals involved and general order of business. It will also offer input for future practice.

The session will provide you with an opportunity to be involved in a MDT or GSF simulation, working through set scenarios and examples of both good and bad practice.

Very good quality of teaching which I am coming to expect from the EOLP!!
