You are invited to help develop a Palliative Hepatology Framework for Cheshire and Merseyside.

These workshops are fully funded for professionals working with people who have advanced liver disease.

Who is the workshop for?

These workshops are designed for professionals working with people who have advanced liver disease. Funded by the Cheshire and Merseyside Liver Network it is free to attend for those working within the Cheshire and Merseyside areas.

Workshops Overview

The workshops have been developed to support the development of a Palliative Hepatology Framework for Cheshire and Merseyside. This work aims to improve standards of care for people with decompensated liver disease, and to reduce variation in care

There will be three thematic workshops,

  • Best Clinical Practice
  • How professionals can empower patients to make informed decisions
  • Collaborative Working

You are more than welcome to attend any or all of the workshops.

    Workshop Details & Booking

    Workshop 1: Best Clinical Practice

    Thursday 26th February 2026,
    8:30 am – 1:00 pm

    This workshop will focus on developing a framework that is evidence- and data-informed, and grounded in recognised best practice. We will explore how the framework can support improved outcomes and experiences for people with decompensated liver disease.

    • Defining the patient cohort
    • Mapping the patient journey, including key decision points and opportunities to improve care
    Workshop 2: Empower Informed Decisions

    Thursday 12th March 2026,
    8:30 am – 1:00 pm

    This workshop will explore how professionals can better support people with decompensated liver disease to make informed decisions about their care. We will consider how to ensure that:

    • Professionals understand the barriers patients may face when accessing care
    • Patients have access to clear, accessible information about their condition and available options, and are supported to share their preferences

    Agenda

    • Identifying and prioritising barriers to accessing palliative care for this patient cohort
    • Exploring potential solutions to improve access and shared decision-making
    Workshop 3: Collaborative Working

    Thursday 16th April 2026,
    8:30 am – 1:00 pm

    This workshop will explore the benefits of enhanced collaboration across Cheshire and Merseyside, and identify opportunities to strengthen joint working to improve care and outcomes for people with decompensated liver disease.
