Session Overview

“Namaste Care” is an acclaimed program designed to foster meaningful connections for individuals with advanced dementia by engaging their five senses: touch, hearing, sight, smell, and taste.

The term “Namaste” is a heartfelt Hindi greeting that honours the spirit within each person and guides the essence of this approach.

By incorporating multi-sensory activities such as music, food and drink, and soothing touch or massage, you can uplift those you care for. Helping people with advanced dementia “Live Not Just Exist”.

This one-day in person train the trainer course with a follow-up online mentoring session is designed to give you the skills to implement Namaste care within your care setting. Making sure you are confident in the principles of Namaste Care and sharing your knowledge and train others.

You will receive your own Namaste Starter basket, complete with an assortment of sensory items to help you start implementing this meaningful programme.

  • Dementia care trainers
  • Health & Social Care staff supporting people living with advanced dementia in any setting.
  • Those running dementia groups may also find this useful to attend.

  • A full one-day (in person) immersive experience

  • A resource pack to enable you to implement and train your team to deliver Namaste

Learning outcomes
