Introduction to Palliative Dementia Care
Session Overview
Designed for health and social care staff working hands-on with people living with dementia, this engaging half-day session explores the principles of palliative dementia care.
The session will support you to recognise the changing needs of people with dementia, from early symptoms, to as they approach the later stages of life.
We will address how to respond with compassionate, person-centred care, and do this together in this safe space to discuss and explore practice.
You will consider communication, hands on support, comfort care & symptom awareness, as well as the importance of supporting dignity, wellbeing, and those important to the person.
