Session Overview
.This whole-day event will include sessions on the following:
- Falls Training
- How to Identify and Support Residents with Depression
- Dysphagia Awareness
- MDT’s in Care Homes and Effective Multidisciplinary Team Working

Learning Outcomes
- Be able to discuss fall causes, prevention and tools for use in practice
- Be able to recognise symptoms of depression, how to use validated assessment tools and help identify methods of management
- Have an understanding of what dysphasia is, CQC guidance for dysphasia residents, risks associated with dysphasia and how you can support residents
- To increase awareness and upskills delegates in the care of residents living with Dementia
- Understand the purpose and structure of Multidisciplinary Teams (MDTs) in care homes, recognise the roles of key members, identify common challenges in collaborative working, and explore how MDT’s contribute to delivering the Enhanced Health in Care Homes (EHCH) Framework
