An innovative education programme devised in partnership with the Cheshire based charity the End of Life Partnership has been recognised, by the national Association of Business Psychology, which named them winners of the ‘Excellence in Learning and Development’ award for their bespoke Hospice Leadership and Management Development course.
The course was devised in conjunction with Rachel Lewis, Director of Envision, and in partnership with the Hospice Learning and Development Group: East Cheshire Hospice; Macclesfield Hospice; The Hospice of the Good Shepherd, Chester; St Rocco’s Hospice, Warrington and St Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice, in Winsford.
Recognising the challenges faced by Hospices in training and recruiting future leaders, the End of Life Partnership commissioned Envision to help them devise and deliver the course that aims to grow talent from within the existing hospice workforce. The course used experiential learning and a strengths-based approach to create Hospice leaders of the future.
“We are thrilled by the recognition that has been given to this course, and to be a key part of the team that designed and delivered it. We believe strongly in building the skills and confidence of future leaders and enabling everyone to care with confidence,” says Annamarie Ratcliffe, Head of Education and Service Development at EOLP.
Rachel Lewis, Director of Envision, who received the award on behalf of everyone involved, says “I consider it an honour to have been invited to be part of this work. It is a joy to work with the hospice staff on their journey to developing their leadership style and skills”.
