Frances Underhill, Ruth Philp and Will Roberts will develop links with a wide range of community groups and organisations and provide talks, crafting memories sessions, training and other interventions to enable, inspire and empower people to think about, talk about and take action in relation to life, age, death, dying and loss.

Frances Underhill

Frances has joined the team with a health and social care background having previously worked with children 0-19 and their families in a range of settings. Most recently Frances has been working in Cheshire East Family Service as a Disability Focused Family Service Worker. Frances started her public health work at Brighton University comparing health promoting schools models in the UK and The Republic of Ireland. Frances is eager to develop links with local communities and professionals to advocate the CLWDW ethos.

Ruth Philp

Ruth is a nurse by background, having worked initially in a regional communicable diseases unit and then moving into public health in the 1990’s. Ruth worked for many years as a Consultant Nurse with the Greater Manchester Health Protection Unit. She retired in 2013 but was tempted back into work by the challenge of the innovative CLWDW Public Health and Wellbeing team agenda, and is looking forward to developing links with colleagues and service providers.

Will Roberts

Having originally studied Crime, Deviance and Society at university, Will spent five years working within the Health and Fitness industry as an exercise referral instructor, introducing people to exercise to help manage medical conditions. Will wished to continue working with the public but sought a challenge on a larger scale that affected every member of society. The expansion of CLWDW team was the ideal opportunity for him to bring the behaviour skills and experience he had developed into the forum of living, ageing, dying and grieving.
