The new programme aims to address the inequality of social care organisations and staff being unable to access a palliative and end of life care programme where there is currently no direct access to Facilitation. The programme will also present a new opportunity of the individual learner to log their learning to support CPD. The programme will be incorporated into the Six Steps website offering organisations and generalist staff caring for people in need of palliative and end of life care an opportunity to undertake an innovative self-led programme. The programme will be aimed at, although not exclusive to care homes, domiciliary and housing care organisations and their staff.

The programme will focus on some of the key aspects of end of life and palliative care: timely assessment, identification and planning of end of life care, engagement with wider teams and professionals, and an opportunity to explore Advance Care Planning and personalised care conversations.

There will be a set of newly developed resources which include a series of podcast type videos, interactive case studies, online log and on-line quizzes to provide an engaging, informative and visually appealing programme.
